Dear friends and supporters,

You have seen the devastation in Haiti.

As international delegate for Association Amis des Enfants, I am all too aware of the added problem in sending aid to the island of La Gonave, which will activate only after mainland has been secured. You probably have noticed that no mention to this island has been made by the media as yet.

Food price will inevitably increase and be scarce, so will be medications. I don’t envisage doctors to be able to leave mainland Haiti and travel to the island for a while.

Consequently, and grateful for the whole international aid offered so promptly, I beg all of you to donate a minimum that can reach Association Amis des Enfants in La Gonave and will be distributed to the population as a first support towards recovery.

I have no news about anyone on the island as yet, but have contacted our local bank manager and the central bank in USA, as to ensure wire transfers are still up and running.
